INUTEC^® is the trade name of inulin-based products from ORAFTI Bio Based Chemicals. They are obtained from native chicory inulin through physical and/or chemical modification.
Inulin is an essentially linear fructose based polymeric carbohydrate with a moderate molecular weight compared to e.g. starch and cellulose. Because of its lower degree of polymerisation, it has typical characteristics and forms a new type of building blocks for chemical modification.
As inulin is extracted from chicory roots, INUTEC^® products originate from a renewable resource. They can be applied as environmentally friendly and low toxic alternatives for chemicals with a poor eco-profile.
